Types of saffron(Saffron Type)
The color and fragrance quality of saffron, which depend on the quantity of stigma and style in it, is classified as shown in the following figure. The Saffron Price is a function of its type and quality
Pushal saffron Type
This is in fact the red stigmas connected to each other together with 1- 4 millimeters of the yellow styles of saffron flowers. Due to the greater quantity of styles present in Pushal saffron, its coloring power is from 170 to 250.
Pushal Negin saffron type (Negin means gem- stone in Persian)
If the red and large stigmas (each with three branches that are connected together at the bottom) are separated from the flowers without the style (the yellow part), a voluminous type of saffron will be obtained that is the most expensive and of the highest quality, with the coloring power of 230 to270.
Sargol (top of the flower in Persian) saffron Type
Sargol saffron contains the completely red and cut (separated from each other) stigmas of saffron flowers with no styles or root head (sar risheh in Persian), with the coloring power of 210 to 260. Depending on coloring power, length, and thickness of threads, the percentage of broken stigmas, and the quantity of saffron fines, Sargol saffron (premium) is classified as follows:

Bunch saffron (Dokhtar Pich in Persian mean
ing “girl bundled”)
This saffron contains red stigmas together with 3-5 millimeters of the styles connected to them that are put beside each other in an orderly way called bundled (Nakh Pich or Dokhtar Pich in Persian), and has coloring power of 120 to 150.
